Top 5 Vacation Spots in the US

Growing up, my family would take a trip every summer for a week. We only traveled within the US, so there were many places that we visited. I remember those summers as if they were yesterday. Based on all of the trips that we have taken, I have compiled a list of the top five vacation spots based on activities and affordability.

1. Orlando, Florida. Disneyworld is my absolute favorite place to go. I've been there three times. There are a number of theme parks to visit: Magic Kingdom is geared for the children with disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, etc. Epcot Center is for those who have a fascination with science. The rides are great. Then there is Hollywood studios with tours and attractions and Animal Kingdom. For those who like to get wet, there are water parks, such as the Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney's Blizzard Beach. Prices range between $60 and $90 per adult person, but there are group discounts, and you may can catch a great online deal or special.

2. Los Angeles, California. I live here, so I am pretty happy to say that there are many things to do in LA. I've had family and friends come to visit, and I always take them to Hollywood to take one of the tours of the Hollywood neighborhoods where the rich and famous live. Each time I took them, we caught a deal that gave us $15-$20 off regular price. Going to the beach is always nice. Los Angeles has such beautiful weather that sometimes in the winter months you can go to the beach in a swimsuit and not get too cold. There are sometimes free concerts in the parks at night. I've seen gigs on the street corner where artists showcase their talent in hopes of receiving tips from bystanders. There are many talented people in LA, particularly those who are not famous, so you always be entertained.

3. Hilton Head, South Carolina. I am originally from South Carolina, and Hilton Head is one of the most beautiful cities in America. The beauty of the city is magnificent. There are some small attractions and theme parks, but this is the place to go if you are a fan of golf or like to play golf. There are many golf courses and every week there is a tournament. The green grass, hills, lakes are enough to just relax your mind and spirit. There are boutique stores and outlets that have great deals on clothing and accessories. Just about everything is affordable.

4, Williamsburg, Virginia. We visited Busch Gardens one summer, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Busch Gardens is beautiful with many roller coaster rides and attractions. There is much history there. There are theaters that have shows where actors re-enact events from centuries ago. It's a small town with many things to see and souvenirs to collect. So if you are one who likes a thrill and to learn about American History, then Williamsburg, Virginia is the place to be.

5. Las Vegas, Nevada. I would not advise taking children. There is too much fun to have. If you are a theater person and like to see a good show, then this is the place to be. If you like to win and lose money, then this is the place to be. If you gamble, it could get a little expensive. The food there is delicious, and there is no need to use your car to drive around. Everything is within walking distance.

Depending on your taste, I do not think you can go wrong with either of the choices. I have enjoyed every vacation spot listed, and I highly recommend them.
