Tour Plan
You will take a flight from Zanzibar Airport to Arusha Airport, anticipated to arrive at approximately 9:20am. Upon your arrival at Arusha Airport, your assigned guide will extend a warm welcome. We will be at the gate in a few hours, checking in and searching for animals. Usually, there are animals right after you enter the gate! Thomson's gazelle and warthogs are typically spotted here, and elephants are not far away. You will be impressed with the size of the enormous baobab trees that seem to be everywhere in this park. We shall search for the big cats—always a memorable sighting! We then drive to the Tarangire River to catch up with the big elephant herds and other animals that make their way there to drink.
At noon, we drive to a picnic site on a viewpoint, where we shall have lunch while enjoying the incredible views and the birds. We will resume our game drive as we travel to your accommodation.
We shall drive to Ngorongoro Crater after our early breakfast. We will drive through the busy town of Karatu before reaching the Ngorongoro Highlands. Upon arrival, we will check in with the authorities and then drive a short distance to the road descending to the crater floor. We will search for animals in the crater for most of the day. As we search, we keep our eyes peeled to catch a glimpse of the black rhino. Hyenas, lions, buffalos and elephants are common. Wildebeest and zebras are also present. Around lunchtime, we will drive to a picnic site by the lake for our packed lunch. As we enjoy our lunch, we will be watching the hippos and keep an eye out for the kites that always look to snatch something to eat.
We will set off for another game drive and return to Arusha around 3:00pm.
