Tour Plan
After your breakfast you will meet eighth your Tanzania guide for the second part of your safari, be introduced to him and get a summary of how the safari will be. Leave Arusha for Lake Manyara which is a park flourishing with wildlife. After your lunch you will go for an evening game drive to be introduced to the ecosystem of the park and later proceed to your camp for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast you will have a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National park which has beautiful dense forest with lots of wildlife such as monkeys, giraffes, elephants, impalas, hippos, flamingos as well as lions. The landscape is also stunning with over 410 species of birds and is known to have the highest number of raptors. Later depart for Serengeti arriving there in the late afternoon which will be spent relaxing from the days excursions. Finally dinner and overnight later in the evening.
After breakfast at your camp you will head out for an en route game drive in the Serengeti plains, have the chance to spot the big cats as they come back from an early morning hunt or as the small game such as gazelles and antelopes rise to start grazing. Drive to Ngorongoro crater which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Have an opportunity to visit the local Maasai village at an extra cost or decide to spend the afternoon taking in the beautiful view of the sun set and landscape. Bonfire, dinner and overnight at the camp.
Today you will experience about 6 hours of game drive in the scenic Ngorongoro crater. The crater is famous for game viewing as there is an ever present abundance of wildlife as a result of the permanent water supply at the floor of the crater. You will descend 610 meters into the crater to spot some of the endangered wildlife such as the black rhino. There are many more interesting animals such as the Thomson’s gazelle, giant tusked elephants as well as lions and leopards, hyenas jackals and wild dogs among many more. In addition more than 500 bird species have been recorded to reside in the Ngorongoro crater. Afterwards have your lunch, ascend the crater and leave for Arusha arriving there in time for dinner and overnight.
