Tour Plan

You will be picked up at the aiport and driven by private transfer to Arusha, to your booked hotel. Your guide will come and give you an introduction to the whole safari. At noon you will be picked up and driven to the unique cultural centre, 'Cultural Heritage Gallery' on the outskirts of Arusha. The variety of sculptures, masks, furniture, drawings and photos from all parts of Africa on display here is extremely impressive and worth visiting. Return to the lodge for welcome dinner and overnight.

In the early morning we drive to Tarangire. With a game viewing area roughly ten times the size of the nearby Manyara National Park and an exceptionally high concentration of wild animal from July to October, this seasonal Tanzania safari park is a little gem on the northern safari route. Elephants are the main attraction with up to 3,000 animals living in the park during peak months. In the high season there are also many wildebeest and zebras as well as giraffes, buffalo, Thompson's gazelles, warthogs, larger and smaller kudu, leopard and cheetah. Tarangire is also one of the best bird watching destinations in Tanzania. After lunch at the picnic site inside the park and further game viewing, we drive to our campsite for dinner and overnight.

Early morning after breakfast, we drive straight to Serengeti National Park through Ngorongoro conservation area. The 'endless plains' of the Serengeti are home to an extraordinarily large number of wildlife in north eastern Tanzania - Tanzania's border turns it into Kenya's famous Masai Mara. Predators viewing here is excellent with around 4,000 lions and large numbers of cheetahs, leopards and hyenas. Other animals frequently found in the park are topi, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, elephant, caracal, serval, bat-eared fox, hyrax, wildebeest, rabbit, warthog, aardvark, giraffe, jackal, mongoose, crocodile, monitor lizard, aardwolf, many types of primates, including baboons and colobus monkeys and over 500 species of birds. After a picnic lunch inside the Serengeti, we continue with our game drive and later to our campsite for dinner and overnight.

Today we spend most of the time at the 'Hippo Pool' and watch the animals as they cool off at the waterhole. These include the crocodiles and the colossal hippos. With a bit of luck we will see a large pride of lions as well as wildebeest and zebras migrate. We will drive on the wide plains to the Kopjes (island mountains). These are known as volcanic rock cultures that provide natural protection for many animals. From above you can enjoy a wide view over the vast expanses of the Serengeti National Park. In the afternoon, we drive straight to Ngorongoro conservation area at a carefully chosen campsite for dinner and an overnight stay awaiting for your adventures to the crater the next day.

Today we dedicate ourselves to the Ngorongoro Crater, which offers a breathtakingly beautiful backdrop and is the best place in East Africa to see the 'Big Five' (elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, lion and leopard). Ngorongoro National Park is one of the most beautiful nature safari locations in the world and an extraordinary place to meet people from the Maasai tribe. The Ngorongoro Crater and the surrounding highlands together form one of the most beautiful regions in Africa. Volcanic craters make a great backdrop to some of the most fertile and richest pasture land in Africa. The 610 m deep caldera with an area of around 260 square kilometres is a closed ecosystem. After a break for our delicious picnic near the hippopotamus lake and further game drive in the afternoon, we will back to drive to Arusha, where your safari with geoDiscovery Tours ends. On request, we will be happy to book the the last overnight of your trip or organize any further trips in Tanzania.
