Tour Plan

After having breakfast in your hotel, you will be picked up by your driver guide and depart for Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is one of the largest parks in Tanzania and is located in the Manyara region. It is characterized by the large herds of elephants and tree climbing lions that call it home, as well as the fascinating baobab trees that are renowned for their mythical powers by some of the local cultures. The Tarangire River flows through the park year round and is the only source of water for the animals during the dry season. Later you will leave the park and heading to Karatu for diner and overnight at Eileen's tree inn lodge.

After breakfast you will drive towards the fertile crater highlands where the Iraqw people grow wheat, corn and coffee. At midday you will reach the plains of the Serengeti National Park, the largest park in Tanzania. The Serengeti has a diversity of landscapes including short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps and lakes and it is famous for the yearly migration when hundred thousands of wildebeest and zebras trek to find fresh grass and water. On your way to your accommodation you will understand, where the word Serengeti (plains in the language of the Maasai) comes from. Overnight at Serengeti Into wild Africa tented camp.

After breakfast, game viewing drive along the Songore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, and which is good for possible Lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich and cheetah sightings. The Visitor Centre close to the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites is well worth a visit after the morning’s game drive. In the afternoon, you will follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes, which usually attract a number of lion and some formidably large cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops, scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems, providing shade and drinking water in pools left in the rock after the rains. This makes the kopjes particularly good for spotting wildlife in the dry seasons – including lions, which like to lie in wait for animals coming to drink. Later drive back to the camp for diner and overnight at Serengeti Into wild African tented camp.

Dawn is a good time to watch wildlife and so you will be up early to join an early morning game drive. You will return to the camp for breakfast before heading out for another game drive in the park. Here in the Seronera region you will often see wildebeests and zebras in close proximity of lions and other predators such as leopards and cheetahs. After a picnic lunch you will continue your journey towards the Ngorongoro area. Once you have reached the crater rim you will enjoy fantastic views of this 600 m deep collapsed volcano. You will stay at Ngorongoro Rhino lodge, situated on the crater rim.

After your breakfast you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife for a full day crater tour with picnic lunch down into the crater. Supported by year round water supply and fodder, The Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) supports a vast variety of animals which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. You will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen there. Later on, drive to karatu for diner and overnight at Eileen's tree inn lodge.

After breakfast depart to Lake Manyara Park which is famous for its tree lions climbing also known as home of baboons, giraffes, elephants, hippos and much more. Enjoy your packed lunch in the park and later afternoon head out of the park heading toward to Arusha for overnight or transfer to airport for your flight to next destination.
