Tour Plan
Tarangire National Park is located 115 km south of Arusha. It is a long and narrow park that covers 2850 km2 and runs along the Tarangire River. The name of the park is taken from the river, which is the only source of water for the wild animals that live here during the dry season. The park is famous for its large number of elephants, baobab trees and tree climbing African pythons. At the end of the day we arrive at African Glamping Tented Camp where you can relax at the swimming pool.
Today we will go on a full day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. This park is known for its breathtaking panoramic views, waterfalls and babbling brooks with clear water and hot springs. It is located between the rocks of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara. Of the approximately 390 km2 that make up the park, two-thirds of that is water. The rest of the park is a large strip of land between the lake and the rocks. The beauty of this park is partly due to its large variety of wildlife, grasslands, forests and water. Lake Manyara has one of the largest populations of water birds in Africa at over 400 species, including flamingos and pelicans. Large herds of elephants are also found here, as well as giraffes, hippos, water buffalos and impalas. At the end of the afternoon we will go to African Glamping Tented Camp.
Today you will head into the Serengeti and spend three days exploring this amazing park. At the end of each game drive you will head to a tented lodge in the middle of Serengeti where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset. The Serengeti covers an area of about 30,000 km2 in the north of Tanzania and Kenya, 80% of which is located in Tanzania. The park is famous for the migration involving about 1.5 million herbivores and thousands of predators fleeing drought in search of fresh water and grazing. After the rains arrive in mid-April they make the reserve journey via a detour through the western portion of the Serengeti. Grasslands cover more than one third of the park and you will find many animals here throughout the year. At the end of the day we overnight at African Safari Serengeti Central Camp.
The fourth day we spend all morning doing game drives in Serengeti and in the afternoon we’ll be heading to Ngorongoro conservation area. We overnight at Rhino Lodge which is a few hundred meters away from the crater rim. The lodge offers amazing views of untouched high montane forest with Mount Oldeani and Mount Makarot.
We wake up early in the morning and eat breakfast before making your way ready for game drives inside the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is 20km in diameter, 600m high and is the largest intact crater in the world. An estimated 30,000 large mammals live in the crater, which features a salt lake at its center. This is one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in the world! The Masai and Hadza people live together in harmony with the animals that also call this place home. From the edge you will look out over the impressive crater and all of its wonderful inhabitants. In the afternoon we will drive back to Arusha in time for dinner.
