Let’s meet the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes! On the way to Lake Eyasi we drive through local villages and the beautiful natural surroundings of Lake Eyasi. We will first pay a visit to the Hadzabe tribe. The Hadzabe will invite you into their community and they will show you their way of life. They will teach you how to make a fire by using two dry sticks and how to use a bow and arrows. You can join the women for collecting roots and fruits or the men for hunting (early morning only). In the afternoon we visit the Datoga tribe, who resemble the Maasai culture. These people are natural blacksmiths, and we will observe as they make weapons such as arrowheads and knives which they trade with the Hadzabe. After the adventures of the day, we overnight at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge. Located on a gentle slope, Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge offers stunning views over the seasonal soda lake and up to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
On the fourth day we drive to the amazing Ngorongoro crater. The Ngorongoro crater is the largest intact crater in the world. The crater life estimated 30,000 large mammals. If you’re lucky you might even spot a rhino today! We overnight at Rhino Lodge which is a few hundred meters away from the crater rim.
