Tour Plan
Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport. There you will be picked up and driven by private transfer to Arusha, to your booked hotel. Your guide will come and give you an introduction to the whole safari. At noon you will be picked up and driven to the unique cultural center, 'Cultural Heritage Gallery' on the outskirts of Arusha. The variety of sculptures, masks, furniture, drawings and photos from all parts of Africa on display here is extremely impressive and worth visiting. Ovenight at hotel.
Early in the morning, after a tasty breakfast, we drive to Tarangire National Park. The drive will take about 2 hours and will give us a good picture of the rural region in Tanzania. Tarangire is famous for its large numbers of elephants and the peculiar baobab trees. The life-giving Tarangire River meanders through the savannah-like park landscape. Many animals gather on the river and allow excellent game viewing. In addition to a large number of elephants, the park is also home to giraffes, bushbuck, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest and much more. Sightings of predators such as lions, leopards and hyenas are always possible. From the open roof of the jeep we can enjoy the landscape and observe the wildlife. After a full day in the park, we drive to the superbly equipped lodge in Karatu, where we have dinner in the aesthetically appealing restaurant, relax and spend the night in your spacious rooms.
Today we dedicate ourselves to the Ngorongoro Crater, which offers a breathtakingly beautiful backdrop and is the best place in East Africa to see the 'Big Five' (elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, lion and leopard). Ngorongoro National Park is one of the most beautiful nature safari locations in the world and an extraordinary place to meet people from the Maasai tribe. The Ngorongoro Crater and the surrounding highlands together form one of the most beautiful regions in Africa. Volcanic craters make a great backdrop to some of the most fertile and richest pasture land in Africa. The 610 m deep caldera with an area of around 260 square kilometres is a closed ecosystem. After a break for our delicious picnic near the hippopotamus lake and further game drive in the afternoon, we will back to drive to Arusha, where your safari with geoDiscovery Tours ends. On request, we will be happy to book the the last overnight of your trip or organize any further trips in Tanzania.
