Tour Overview
The marangu is the first and oldest route to Kilimanjaro. The route is famously known as the Coca-Cola route; a lot of people claim it is the easiest but that may not be accurate as it does not provide enough time for acclimatization. The route approaches the mountain from south east and offers hut accommodation instead of camps. The marangu route used to be the most popular route but not anymore, lately machame route has been on the top. Although the route has very few steeps which makes climbing easy, its direct approach to the mountain makes its summit success low compared with those of other routes.
