Tour Plan
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and be greeted by your safari guide. Transfer to your hotel in Moshi. This is where all of your planning becomes a reality: Tanzania is such a wonderful country when it comes to wildlife and beautiful landscapes.
Note: Starting your safari in Moshi offers several advantages over the common belief that beginning in Arusha is better. First, staying in Moshi provides the impressive view of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. Plus, you can embark on a day trip to the first camp via the Marangu Route. Moshi also offers excellent day trip opportunities, including visits to Materuni Waterfall, the tallest in northern Tanzania, the Kikuletwa Hot Springs, and a top-rated coffee tour showcasing Kilimanjaro coffee, renowned for its quality due to the volcanic soil. Additionally, your last night with Mropean Safaris will be in Arusha, allowing you to enjoy the city’s attractions as well.
After an early breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, a scenic three-hour drive from Moshi. Known for its massive baobab trees and large herds of elephants, Tarangire is a gem that offers diverse wildlife viewing. Upon arrival, embark on a game drive to explore the park’s riverine landscapes, frequented by giraffes, buffaloes, and a variety of antelopes. Stop for a picnic lunch in the park, then continue your game drive until late afternoon. In the evening, check into your accommodation, enjoy dinner, and relax under the African stars.
After breakfast, depart for the Ndutu area in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving in time for a late lunch. The Ndutu region, located between Ngorongoro and the Serengeti, is renowned for its calving season, where wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles give birth, creating a vibrant and dramatic wildlife scene. Check into your accommodation, where you’ll spend the next few days amidst the heart of the migration.
Spend exhilarating day exploring the Ndutu region, which is a hotspot for wildlife during the calving season. Experience morning and afternoon game drives to witness the spectacular birthing of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes. This season draws numerous predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, leading to thrilling wildlife interactions and hunting scenes. Enjoy packed lunches in the bush and take in the sweeping vistas of the Serengeti plains.

After an early morning game drive in Ndutu, depart for the iconic Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the crater for an afternoon game drive in one of Africa’s most picturesque wildlife areas, home to a dense population of animals including the Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos. After a packed lunch, ascend the crater rim and begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon. Check into your hotel for your last night and enjoy a special farewell dinner
On your final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and some free time to relax at the hotel or explore the local markets in Arusha for last-minute shopping. Depending on your flight schedule, you may visit a cultural heritage center or simply unwind before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure flight. Bid farewell to Tanzania, taking with you memories of the incredible migration and the captivating wildlife encounters.
