Tour Overview
This is the most southern safari in Africa that will provide you with so much to learn and explore. This safari will take you from Dar es Salaam, the Capital City, to Selous Game Reserve; the largest game reserve in East Africa. You will also tour Ruaha where you will experience once in a lifetime moments learning about and viewing the “Big 5”, large groups of elephant and many other game animals. Tour Plan
After breakfast you will depart from Dar es Salaam Airport, in our private vehicle, to board your flight to Selous Game Reserve. You will land at Selous Airstrip in Mtemela and be picked up by our representative and driven to Selous River Camp. Here you will check-in at the tented encampment in a double room for 3 nights. After a hot lunch you will take off for an evening game drive in the reserve where you will have a chance to see members of the cats family like lion as well as elephant, impala, zebra, giraffe, buffalo and a variety of wild birds. You will return later in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay in camp
After breakfast you will depart camp for a full day game drive in the Selous Game Reserve. One you arrive at the game reserve you will start your game drive later stopping off at a resting point to enjoy your picnic lunch. After lunch you will get back to your game drive, later returning to the campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast you will depart for a walking safari in the reserve where you will walk with an armed ranger viewing most of the animals up close and in wide range. Later you will be taken on a boat safari along Rufiji River where you will experience amazing views of animals and other species which living in the river. Later you will return to campsite for relaxation, dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast you will depart by private vehicle to Mtemela Airstrip to board your flight to Ruaha National Park. Upon arrival at Ruaha Airstrip you will be picked-up by our representative and driven to Ruaha Hilltop Lodge where you will check-in at your private bungalow for three nights. After you settle in you will depart for a cultural tour in a Maasai Village where you will learn about the local Maasai people and dance with them in their traditional drama dancing and sing songs with them. You will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay later in the evening.
After an early breakfast you will depart for a full day game drive, with lunch boxes, in Ruaha National Park. Upon arrival at the park you will check-in and take off on another game drive. You will explore families of elephant, as well as lion, wildebeest, zebra, hippo, crocodile, impala and a large variety of wild birds. This tour will provide you with the opportunities to take wonderful pictures to capture remarkable moment on your safari. In the afternoon you will stop off at resting point where you will enjoy your picnic lunch and drinks and then take off to enjoy the rest of the days safari until late in the evening. You will then return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast you will leave the lodge for Ruaha National Park for an early game drive. YOu will then return to the lodge for a hot lunch and some leisure time. You also have the option of participating in other activities around the village like mountain biking or take part in a village walking tour. Later in the day you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
You will wake, enjoy breakfast and have some leisure time. After lunch you will depart the lodge and head to Ruaha National Park for a half-day evening game drive where you will have a chance to see most of animals which are active in the evening. You will return to the lodge before sunset to have a special cocktail, at the open terrace bar, where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the African sunset and make a toast of congratulations for finishing the safari. Later, dinner will be served and you will settle in for your overnight stay at the lodge.
After breakfast you will depart to Ruaha Airstrip to board your flight to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival at Dar Es Salaam Airport you will be transferred to your hotel for one night before your departure to your home country or with the option of doing an evening city tour. This is where your safari will end.
