Tour Plan
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and be warmly welcomed by your Mropean Safaris representative. Transfer to your accommodation in Moshi, where you can unwind and settle in after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, explore the vibrant local markets, stroll through the bustling streets, or simply relax at your hotel, soaking in the serene ambiance of this gateway town.
Note: Starting your safari in Moshi offers several advantages over the common belief that beginning in Arusha is better. First, staying in Moshi provides the impressive view of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. Plus, you can embark on a day trip to the first camp via the Marangu Route. Moshi also offers excellent day trip opportunities, including visits to Materuni Waterfall, the tallest in northern Tanzania, the Kikuletwa Hot Springs, and a top-rated coffee tour showcasing Kilimanjaro coffee, renowned for its quality due to the volcanic soil. Additionally, your last night with Mropean Safaris will be in Arusha, allowing you to enjoy the city’s attractions as well.
Kick off your safari with a visit to Tarangire National Park, known for its stunning landscapes and large elephant herds. As you traverse the park, spot giant baobab trees, towering above the savannah, and encounter wildlife such as elephants, lions, and giraffes. The park’s river serves as a lifeline during the dry season, attracting a variety of animals to its waters. After a thrilling day of game viewing, head to your lodge for a well-deserved rest.
Depart early for Serengeti National Park, traveling through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive in the Serengeti in time for an afternoon game drive, where the vast, untamed plains come alive with an incredible diversity of wildlife. Search for the Big Five lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos as you explore this iconic landscape. Your journey into the heart of the Serengeti will leave you in awe of its unspoiled beauty.
Spend the entire day immersed in the Serengeti’s untamed wilderness. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, maximizing your chances of witnessing the park’s diverse wildlife in action. Depending on the time of year, you may have the chance to witness the Great Migration—a natural spectacle where millions of wildebeest and zebras traverse the plains. Every moment in the Serengeti offers a new and thrilling experience, from hunting predators to grazing herbivores.
After breakfast, bid farewell to the Serengeti and travel to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, often called the "Eighth Wonder of the World." Descend into the crater, home to a rich ecosystem with nearly every species of African wildlife. Enjoy a game drive through this natural amphitheater, where you’ll have the chance to see lions, elephants, flamingos, and the rare black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before ascending the crater walls to your lodge for an evening of relaxation.
Today, explore Lake Manyara National Park, a small but incredibly diverse park known for its tree-climbing lions and vibrant birdlife. Enjoy a game drive along the lake, where flamingos paint the shores pink and hippos laze in the water. Traverse the park’s lush forests, home to baboons, blue monkeys, and the elusive leopard. A picnic lunch amidst the park’s stunning scenery provides the perfect setting to reflect on your incredible safari experiences.
After a leisurely breakfast, drive back to Arusha, where you’ll have time to visit local markets, museums, or simply relax before your departure. You’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight, carrying with you memories of Tanzania’s extraordinary wildlife and natural wonders.
